Literacy, learning, laps and laughter! Bring your tot and your touchscreen (or use ours) for an hour of hands-on fun using technology as a powerful early learning tool. Active, engaged co-play on an iPad can reveal your child’s hidden aptitudes, boost your child’s confidence, and even instill a love of self-directed learning. Together, we will swipe, tap, and co-play under the guidance of education expert Gail Lovely. As we do, she’ll illustrate how appropriate use of technology can enhance your child’s learning and create shared experiences. We’ll talk about selecting apps that match your child’s developmental needs and suggest lots of great ways to use your tablet with your child.Lovely works with school systems and educational institutions around the country to integrate technology into their learning environments. Her clients include PBS and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Bring your lunch starting at 11:30 a.m.; we’ll provide coffee and dessert.
